QPR back in the big time

Andy tables Early Day Motion to celebrate QPRs promotion to the Premier League

Several London MPs have come together to put QPR's promotion on record. So far 12 MPs have signed an Early Day Motion in praise of QPR and their unexpected triumph in the playoffs last season. The EDM reads "that this House congratulates Queen's Park Rangers Football Club on its promotion to the Premier League; acknowledges the key role played by the manager, staff and players and by the enthusiasm and loyalty of QPR fans worldwide; and looks forward to the return of Premiership football to White City and the continuation of the wonderful contribution the club makes to the local community in Hammersmith and Fulham."

Labour MP for Hammersmith and Fulham season ticket holder Andy Slaughter, who tabled the motion, said, "It's great to see Harry Redknapp's boys back in the Premier League where they belong. I was happy to make sure their success was on the record books in Parliament. Lots of my constituents are QPR fans and I imagine they will be excited by some of the big-names signings they have made already. I only hope that my own club Fulham FC don't take too long in joining them!"
