Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating in Hammersmith, London and across the world.

My best wishes to you and your family as we celebrate this special time.

To Muslims in Shepherds Bush, Hammersmith and Fulham I offer my help and support in the coming year as your friend and your local MP.

This is also a time that we think of those who lack the means to celebrate or are victims of war.

In particular my thoughts are with the people of Gaza, trapped for seven years in a virtual prison and now subject to brutal and violent attack.

Let us hope that this year will bring peace and justice to them.
